Default Too many anti-melee builds in RA?

Ok so I'm coming back to guild wars for the second time and mainly running RA till I find a mature guild to pvp with. What really bugs me is the outrageous number of anti-melee skills there are. And people seem to center their builds around these to render themselves imune to melee.

This really bums me out being that my favorite class is warrior. If you look at the anti-caster skills that are available the only ones that have any effect are ones that apply daze which there isn't many of and are very difficult to work into a melee build. So what do I do? Make a 150 AL blind spamming ele or give up? Anyone else notice this? Is there counters I'm not thinking of? Don't say "wild blow" because it only works against stances and it has major drawbacks as a War.

Yes, there are a lot of anti-melee builds in RA, but that is because of all the burst sins/etc out there. One combo I noticed (but haven't tested yet) is [skill]Headbutt[/skill]+ [skill]Plague Touch[/skill]. You hit them for damage and put a long daze on them. Or, if you have NF and aren't against assassins, you can make one and put [skill]Shroud of Silence[/skill] on them. If you read the description, you'll see it's a good skill to shut down casters since they can't cast anything, including any hex removal they might use. The only thing is if you decide to use this, be careful about bringing spells.

I personally like playing anti-melee in RA and watching the Frenzy Warriors kill themselves because they're too stupid to notice SS/blind/price of failure on them.

Another choice that would be alright as a W/Mo would just be to bring either [skill]Mending Touch[/skill] if the problem is just conditions or [skill]Purge Signet[/skill] if you see a lot of hexes as well. The energy shouldn't be too much of a problem since Warriors typically don't use energy that much.

There is so much anti-melee in RA because if you don't have anti-melee and don't have a monk, it will take about 4s to die to any warrior with a clue. Warriors are just that scary that unless you're playing the enter/rage until you get a monk game, if you don't take melee hate you may as well resign yourself to lying on the ground dead.

I don't believe its a question of how many people are play melee but how many anti melee skills is there? Think about it, how many ways can a caster totally shut down melee and how many ways can melee shut down casters? Melee can daze. interupt and knockdown. Daze is the only one of the three that effects only casters and not melee. Now how many conditions / hexes affect melee and not casters? There's a TON!

Anyway it's totally biased. Melee classes need more tools to deal with these stance spamming/ anti melee enchantment/ hex spamming caster classes. A fine example is ward of melee....how the hell are you supposed to counter that?

I'm thinking more along the lines of warrior but the "headbut/plague touch" combo is interesting thx. Still doesn't save me from the blinding surge spamming ele's or ward against melee and all the other garbage they throw at you. Ya I use mending touch but they can put blind on you as quick as you can purge it away.

I guess either daze or plague touch would be decent ways to counter anti-melee tactics. It is definatly hard to be able to function while getting shut down. Another choice you could go with is a mod on your shield or a rune that decreases blind duration. If you stack them, the blind will last only about half as long, which could help a bit.
